Fischer-Tropsch wax - lubricant and release agent
Fischer-Tropsch wax
What is FT wax?
Fischer-Tropsch wax is a mixture of solid, mostly unbranched, saturated hydrocarbons that are produced by the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis.
Fischer-Tropsch wax is a synthetic product based on coal, biomass or natural gas. It is formed as a by-product during the production of liquid fuels. Due to its chemical structure, FT waxes are often referred to as synthetic paraffin waxes. They consist mainly of unbranched chains and have a linear structure, which results in a low viscosity. In addition, they exhibit an increased hardness and high temperature resistance compared to other waxes. Fischer-Tropsch waxes provide many advantageous product properties, which are useful in many applications.
Fischer-Tropsch waxes are considered to be harmless for humans, animals and nature – however CO2 emissions can be caused during the production process. The wax can also be recycled and re-used.

What is Fischer-Tropsch wax used for?
The Fischer-Tropsch waxes of TER Chemicals can be used as lubricants and mold release agents in plastic processing or as a dispersion for textile auxiliary agents and in the paper industry. In printing inks and varnishes, however, they are used to improve abrasion resistance, matting and scratch resistance. In addition, Fischer-Tropsch waxes are used in the manufacture of adhesives, rubber, cosmetics and industrial cleaners, as well as in metalworking and nitumen modification.
